THERAPY SERVICES
Therapy is designed to provide people with a safe place to share their difficulties and identify strategies to adjust, and create positive change in their life. HFA psychologists are trained to offer therapy for a range of difficulties that people often experience, and have expertise in:
- Depression and anxiety
- Trauma
- Family and Domestic violence
- Substance use and behavioural addictions, such as gambling
- Sexual problems related to pornography use and problematic sexual interests
- Anger management
- Capacity building for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
- Adjustment issues and coping with change
- Work-related stress and problems
- Relationships issues and couples counselling
- Parenting concerns and skill development
HFA psychologists are also trained in a range of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema-Focused Therapy (SFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness. The particular therapeutic approach used is dependent on the individual client presentation and their desired goal for therapy.
