The particular therapeutic approach used is dependent on the individual client presentation and their desired goal for therapy.

CLINICAL ASSESSMENT

Clinical assessment is a formal process used to determine whether a client meets the criteria for diagnosis of a specific psychological disorder. Assessment may be required for people who are experiencing specific impairments in their educational, occupational, or personal life. The result of the assessment may assist clients to access funding for support services to improve their functioning. For example, formal assessments are required to determine whether people are eligible to access funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (https://www.ndis.gov.au/index.html).
